A pirate tells Obama what’s what.
I’m tracking the Republican and Conservative tag but all there is on there is hate and its getting real old real quick.
Over the past Labor Day holiday, I ran across a news item which reported that the Democrat controlled California Legislature passed a bill (SB 1172) which, if signed by Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown, would ban licensed health professionals from providing psychiatric counseling/treatment to any minor who is struggling with same-sex attraction. This treatment would be outlawed in California even if a minor’s parents request it.
This egregious assault on parental child rearing rights was introduced by California State Senator Ted Lieu (D-Torrance), who has shown himself to be quite the liberal fascist. In December 2011, for example, Lieu condemned and essentially threatened government sanctions against Lowe’s Home Improvement stores for the politically incorrect “crime” of pulling its sponsorship of a pro-Islam/Muslim reality show. (Not to toot my own horn, but the first comment below the linked-to news report is mine).
In a tweet exchange I had with him, Lieu tried to justify SB 1172 on grounds that sexual orientation conversion therapy harmed children to the point of constituting abuse:
@catholiclawyer @jerrybrowngov #FascistLib Its not just discrimination, it is equivalent to psychological child abuse.

Interestingly, Lieu’s bill exempts religious organizations, e.g., churches, from trying to cure minors of whatever same-sex disorder they may have. This seemed a bit odd to me given Lieu’s above “abuse” rationale/assertion. Why prohibit medically licensed professionals from “abusing” a minor who thinks he or she might be homosexual, but exempt churches from committing this so-called abuse in the name of their religion? In response to my challenging his intellectual consistency, Lieu incoherently tweeted that he made a distinction between teaching a religious belief and someone claiming to practice medicine.
@catholiclawyer I see a difference between licensed doctor practicing harmful medicine versus what a religion wishes to teach.

Lieu further claims that “science” supports his assertion that sexual orientation conversion or change therapy harms minors (as well as his premise that homosexuality is not a disorder - I wonder how long it has been since men could get pregnant and women can impregnate one another). In the tweet exchange I had with him, Lieu name dropped organizations like the American Psychological Association and the House of Medicine. Lieu clearly hoped I would see these and accept his “the science is settled” claim at face value. I didn’t, of course, and later tweeted at him an article published at the NARTH website wherein the author, Christopher Rosik, PhD, could not find one peer reviewed medical research article that concluded sexual orientation change therapy caused any harm to anyone, let alone minors.
.@tedlieu’s attempt to ban sex orientation change therapy by licensed mental health providers is NOT based in science. narth.com/2012/08/the-co…

Typical of politically left-wing hacks who can’t stand to be inconvenienced with facts or logic, Ted Lieu’s response was utterly predictable: He mindlessly dismissed NARTH as an out of the mainstream fringe group that made unscientific, i.e., not politically correct, claims about homosexuality. In doing this, Lieu revealed he hadn’t even bothered to read the article I had linked in the tweet he responded to. But just to make certain, I asked Lieu to explain how the database search Rosik did, and which is central to his finding that there is no scientific research which supports Ted Lieu’s claim that sexual orientation change therapy causes harm to minors, is invalid. The following is Lieu’s response to me:
@catholiclawyer I don’t know what you mean.

Of course not, Ted. You’re a dimwitted liberal fascist who needs to be booted out of elected office.
For more of Ted’s fascistic adventures in Sacramento, read the following blog post at Cal Watchdog.
I can’t believe this is what gays in America really believe. It’s just propaganda to get straight people riled up about it. Anyway…
It’s from my post - I found a lot of this stuff including anti-Christian bigotry in the Facebook page for the “Kiss-in” protest against Chick-Fil-A.
Gird your loins and take a look.
UPDATE: Apparently the original photo that was photoshopped was one of African-Americans. Isn’t that special. I’m sure they appreciate having Ku Klux Klan hoods over their pics.
